A Classic Re-imagined: The Rebirth of a 1932 Ford Coupe
Crafting a Classic: Amadeo Angelo’s 1932 Ford Coupe at Roseville Rod and Custom
At Roseville Rod and Custom, we pride ourselves on transforming automotive dreams into reality. Our latest project involves building a 1932 Ford Coupe for our frequent and valued customer, Amadeo Angelo. With a deep appreciation for classic cars, Amadeo has entrusted us with this exciting new venture, and we’re thrilled to share our progress.
A Historical Icon: The 1932 Ford Coupe
The 1932 Ford Coupe, often referred to as the “Deuce,” is a legendary vehicle in the world of hot rods. Introduced during the Great Depression, the '32 Ford was a beacon of hope and innovation. Its revolutionary V8 engine made it an instant hit, and its sleek design has kept it a favorite among car enthusiasts for decades. The Coupe's iconic status in the automotive world is solidified by its frequent appearance in hot rod culture, symbolizing speed, style, and ingenuity.
Modern Precision: Aftermarket Bodies and Chassis
For this project, Amadeo selected a Brookville Roadster body and a Roy Brizio chassis. Both are highly regarded in the hot rod community for their exceptional quality and fidelity to the original designs. Brookville Roadster is known for producing high-quality steel bodies that replicate the original 1932 Ford Coupe with remarkable accuracy. These aftermarket bodies are crafted using the same techniques and materials as the originals, ensuring that every curve and contour is true to the classic design. This allows enthusiasts to build or restore their dream cars without compromising on authenticity. Roy Brizio Street Rods, a name synonymous with excellence in the hot rod industry, offers chassis that combine modern engineering with classic styling. The Roy Brizio chassis for the '32 Ford Coupe provides a solid foundation, ensuring safety, performance, and reliability. These chassis are designed to accommodate a variety of modern enhancements while maintaining the traditional look and feel of a 1932 Ford.
Our Progress
When Amadeo brought the Coupe to us, it was in decent shape but required comprehensive bodywork to meet RRC’s standards. Our team of skilled craftsmen meticulously worked on the body, addressing every imperfection to create a flawless canvas.
After completing the bodywork, we primed the body in preparation for the final paint. This crucial step ensures a smooth and durable finish, setting the stage for the stunning paint job to come.
We also focused on perfecting the fit of key components:
- Final Fit on the Hood: Ensuring the hood aligns perfectly with the body for a seamless appearance.
- Roof Insert: We fitted the roof insert and meticulously body-worked it to match the car's original aesthetics.
What’s Next?
Stay tuned as we continue to work on Amedeo Angelo’s 1932 Ford Coupe, transforming it into a masterpiece that pays homage to its iconic heritage while integrating modern innovations.
